“OUR STRENGTH IS THE COMBINATION OF PASSION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE”

A. KOERTS
KMS MARITIME SERVICES

WHO WE ARE

Owner Arjan Koerts was born in Velsen, The Netherlands, in 1971.

As a son of a tugboat owner, I grew up on and around tugs.
From a young age I had a passion for tugboats and for working with them.
With a ‘Master all ships’ license and fully stcw-certified, I started as a tug master in 1995 and continued to develop my interests and experiences in new sectors.

After 20 years of experience in almost every field a tug can operate in, I started the company KMS in 2011 and became a trainer in 2012.
I worked as a freelance captain for several training institutes in the Netherlands and Germany.
I worked as ‘on the job’ trainer and simulator trainer in counties in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

A full summary of my work history can be found on my Linked-In page.

For a list of possibilities I would like to refer you to our services page on this site.

Ask about the possibilities.

TRAINING IS KEY

KMS is the place to be for company training.
What we provide is tailormade for the occupational training of your captains and/or chief mates.

Training options are:

  • Learning to handle a new system. This is meant for candidates who are already capable of maneuveringwith a different system.
  • Full training program for mates to become captain. This is for candidates who need to learn not only how to maneuver the tug and its system, but also how to work with a tug.
  • Any other type of training and/or service can be provided upon request.

Performance check:
KMS can also perform a quality and performance check within your organisation in order to determine if the knowledge and skill level of the captains measure up to the standard quality level of your organisation.
If necessary, a tailormade training program can be set up in order to restore the required level of expertise and skills.
